Our Commitment

S3SH is built on a foundation of absolute privacy. We do not collect, store, or process any of your personal data. Your conversations are yours alone, protected on your device.

Zero Data Collection

We collect nothing. No personal information, no metadata, no analytics. Your activity within S3SH is invisible to us.

  • No phone numbers or emails required.
  • No user accounts or profiles.
  • No message content or attachments.
  • No usage tracking or analytics.
  • No location data.
  • No contact list access.

On-Device Storage

All your data, including messages, session information, and user preferences, is stored exclusively on your iPhone's secure local storage using SQLite database technology. This data never leaves your device except when you actively send messages to other session participants.

Deleting the app permanently erases all stored data from your device. There are no backups on our servers.

How S3SH Works

Session-Based Communication: When you create or join a session, you choose a temporary username. Session codes are used to connect users, but these are not linked to any personal identity.

Real-Time Messaging: Messages are transmitted through secure WebSocket connections directly between participants. We facilitate the connection but do not store message content.

Temporary Identity: Your chosen username exists only within a specific session and is not tied to any account or persistent identity.

AI Assistant Privacy

When you interact with the optional 'root' AI assistant:

  • Your prompts are sent to third-party AI service providers to generate responses.
  • These prompts are not stored on our servers.
  • The AI's memory is limited to the current session only.
  • No conversation history is retained after the session ends.
  • AI providers process data according to their own privacy policies, but they do not use your data for model training.

Push Notifications

If you enable push notifications, we use Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) to deliver message alerts to your device. This service requires a device token, which is:

  • Generated automatically by your device.
  • Used solely to route notifications to your device.
  • Not linked to any personal information.
  • Deleted from our systems when you uninstall the app or disable notifications.

You can disable notifications at any time through your iPhone's Settings.

Data Sharing

We do not share, sell, or rent any user data because we don't collect any. The only data transmission occurs when:

  • You send messages to other participants in a session (peer-to-peer communication).
  • You interact with the AI assistant (prompt sent to AI provider).

These transmissions are initiated by you and necessary for the app's core functionality.

Third-Party Services

S3SH uses the following third-party services with minimal data exposure:

  • Firebase Cloud Messaging: For push notifications (device token only).
  • AI Service Providers: For processing AI assistant requests (prompts only, not stored).

These services operate under their own privacy policies. We have chosen providers that respect user privacy and do not use your data for advertising or training purposes.

Technical Information

Our servers may log minimal technical information for operational purposes, such as:

  • Connection timestamps (not linked to users).
  • Error logs for troubleshooting (anonymous).

This data is anonymous, temporary, and cannot be used to identify individuals.

Children's Privacy

S3SH does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13 years of age. Since we don't collect personal data from anyone, we cannot accidentally collect it from children. However, parental supervision is recommended for younger users.

Data Security

While we don't store your data, we implement security measures to protect data in transit:

  • Secure WebSocket connections (WSS) for real-time messaging.
  • Industry-standard encryption for data transmission.
  • Regular security updates to maintain protection.

Your Control

You have complete control over your data:

  • Delete Sessions: Long-press any session and select delete to remove all messages permanently from your device.
  • Uninstall: Removing the app erases all data from your iPhone.
  • No Account Recovery: Since there are no accounts, there's nothing to recover or delete on our end.

International Users

S3SH is available worldwide. Since we don't collect personal data, there are no cross-border data transfer concerns. Your data stays on your device regardless of your location.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the app or legal requirements. Any changes will be posted in the app and on our website with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of S3SH after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

California Privacy Rights

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), California residents have specific rights regarding their personal information. Since S3SH does not collect, store, or sell any personal information, these rights are inherently protected. There is no personal data to access, delete, or opt-out from selling.

GDPR Compliance

For users in the European Union, S3SH complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) by design. Since we don't process personal data, there is no data subject to GDPR requirements such as right to access, rectification, or erasure.
